The YOYO’s famous one-hand fold depends entirely on that small white release button, and it’s one of the best-documented failures on the YOYO and YOYO2. The result: a travel stroller that’s stuck folded (or unfolded) right when you need it.
Why the YOYO button breaks
The button is a small ABS part held by thin plastic clips. Repeated presses — this is a button you use dozens of times a day — fatigue the clips until they crack. It’s a wear part that Babyzen doesn’t sell separately in most markets.
The fix
Tools: a small flat-head screwdriver to release the remains of the old button’s clips.
- Remove the remains of the broken button from the handlebar housing, releasing the cracked clips with the screwdriver.
- Insert the replacement button, clips aligned with their slots, and press until it clicks flush.
- Test the fold/unfold cycle several times before use, and confirm the frame locks positively in the open position before placing your child in the stroller.
